Playgroup Halloween Bash

On Friday we had our playgroup Halloween party and it was a hoot! Claire and Philip hosted and they went all out! The weather was divine and her patio was the perfect setting for a gathering of wild kiddos!

Here is our little Pebbles Flinstone, "B" made her costume:) The plan was to get a bone in her hair but she was not having it...I was shocked that she kept the pigtail in!

And here goes our attempt to take a group shot...

...some were happier than others but we have come a LONG way since last year!

Margaret Blount and Betsy Grace were really good sports!

The boys are out numbered in our group but they seem to hold their own :)

Looking down at Vince and Sadie from the deck.

"That fern has really long arms!"

So excited it's Fall!!!!

Playing in the grass...

Showing off the chompers!

Ghosts that we made...they look A LOT better from far away :)

Lots more pics to come this week as we get festive in our costumes!!!

Blowing Rock...this time, just adults :)

We went to Blowing Rock a couple of weeks ago and had so much fun! Scott and Ellen were our gracious hosts and even though it was hard to get away, a little adult time was just what we all needed! We went out to dinner the first night, the girls went shopping and had a wonderful spa treat at Westglow, and cooked in and tried to play charades on Saturday night. I say "tried" because the boys were totally unfair and picked things that we had no clue about. Has any girl ever heard of "Pardon the Interruption"...I know now that it is on ESPN and have actually watched it, but come on!

Here is the view from the Wilson's balcony, AMAZING!

The boys went up on Thursday so that they could play golf on Friday, us girls came up Friday afternoon. We were so glad to be in the mountain air!

Here are the girls, Ellen, Melissa, myself and Quinerly.
B and SanSan kept BG and she was happy as a clam!
Thank you for letting us get away, we love you!!!!

Chattaboogie

October has been wild and busy, we have been on the go! It started with a girl's trip to Chattanooga to visit Morgan and her boys, Mac stayed home with Betsy Grace (first daddy/daughter weekend!) Logan and I went for the weekend (we missed you Mel!!!) and loved every minute of our stay. We went to the Baylor/McCallie football game, high school football in Tennessee is huge, and it was extra special because Jay, Mo's hubby, is one of the Baylor coaches and they won! We got up the next day and shopped, had a wonderful, long lunch, and ended the day with a wine festival over the River and yummy dinner...who could ask for more!
Here we are at the wine festival...lots of people watching, lots of food, and so much fun!

On the patio of our lunch spot

Lo and I with the boys...could they be any cuter!

Our sweet Luke, he is such a light!
Our weekend was full of laughter, love and pure joy, which is what we all needed! There is no way we could have anticipated what was right around the corner but I am so glad that we had this weekend to love on Mo and her boys. Two days after we left, Morgan and her family learned that her sweet brother, James, had passed away in Africa due to pneumonia. James had the biggest heart and was passionate about helping those less fortunate, especially in Africa. Through his mission work, he spread God's love, word and truth and he will be deeply missed by all who loved him! To read more about James and his legacy, visit:
