Happy Halloween

Cinderella and her pumpkin want to wish everyone a
VERY HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
We went to a fun and festive party yesterday at our friend Harper Foose's house. All of the kiddos were precious in their costumes and Cinderella enjoyed being the big girl at the party. Harper's mommy, Logan, had a special piece of cake just for Betsy Grace and she was in heaven. In fact, she is sans smile in these pictures because we took her away from her beloved piece to take pictures. All of this sugar, tons of stimulation and late bedtimes are starting to take a toll. Halloween with children is the best but I am looking forward to tomorrow :)

We are headed to another party tonight, so more pictures to come!

Pumpkin Patch

The Barksdales and the Cowdens journeyed to the pumpkin patch this past weekend and it was a blast! Betsy Grace and Margaret Blount were so excited when we finally got there (a 25 minute drive for a 2 year old can be torture) and there was not one part that they didn't absolutely love. This farm had chickens, goats, horses, buffalo and of course pumpkins but Betsy Grace's favorite by far was the chickens, in fact, we are still talking about them :)

So fascinated...she kept saying "Hey chicken, hey rooster"

I think one got a little nibble at her hand

The Daddies with the babies, Sutton and Elizabeth were troopers!

"OOOOOO...look at the chicken's house!"

We tried our best to get a good pics of the bff's, much to their dismay!

All aboard for a tractor ride

Loved all of the colors on this turkey

Baby Blue Eyes

"I found the one I want"

Riding on the tractor

What a fun day!

Wanna be like Beece

My mom, Beece, LOVES her velcro rollers and so when little miss went in my cabinet yesterday and found some, she got soooooo excited. My velcro rollers aren't getting much use these days(somehow they don't fit into my 20 minute shower and get dressed routine), so Betsy Grace can have at them! We are headed to the pumpkin patch today, so good hair is a must :)
Beauty queen in the making!

Little Pumpkin

It is clear that Betsy Grace and Sutton adore each other and it melts my heart to watch them love on each other, even at this early age. Betsy Grace is good about sharing her toys, I often walk into the room and Sutton has a pile of precious items on top of her :) And when Sutton sneezes, Betsy Grace says "Bless you Sutton"....sweetest.thing.ever.
Betsy Grace has been learning about pumpkins in her class, they have been busy carving them, making pumpkin pies and talking about Halloween. So, it was only natural for her to want to turn her sister into one. Very proud of her transformation!
And look at Sutton, looking up at her sister like she is the coolest thing in the world.

Watch out little one, I have a feeling that this is just the beginning of you being the subject of your sister's "dress up" projects!

Nature Walk

Betsy Grace's class at school has been going on nature walks around the church campus. They each get a special bag to put fun things in nature that they find and they have been talking about the colors that Fall brings, the different textures of items and then they all get to share their most favorite part. Her teacher sends a weekly email that recaps the week and she shares quotes from each child, it is hilarious! Even at the age of 2, their little personalities are so vivid! The best part of my day is picking her up from school and her telling me what she did, who she played with and what she learned about. Since I know how much she loves the nature walks at school, we had a little one of our own the other day.

We found a big rock to stand on and she was so proud that she could get up there on her own. No help from mommy is her preference!

We laid in the street and stared up at the trees
(thankfully our street in a deadend, so this is not as dangerous as you think)

We tasted a little straw and decided that even though mommy said it was yucky,
it tasted good...gross!

We looked at the vegetables in our neighbor's garden

We gathered pinecones and leaves and put them in the stroller

And we touched the prickly needles on a tree.

And after our fun adventure, we took a long nap!
