We headed to Williamsburg, Va. this past weekend for our first Little People of America Regional Convention. It was held at Great Wolf Lodge and it was a wonderful experience, our expectations were blown out of the water. We came only knowing one family and left knowing tons, we learned a lot about BG's achondroplasia (her doctors better get ready) and our love and thankfulness for Betsy Grace and each other is stronger than ever. There was a lot of love at Great Wolf this past weekend!
This chick is a trooper when it comes to sleeping while traveling. She took her regular 2 hours naps and despite a later than usual bedtime, slept wonderful at night.
Odd to say but she loves her pack n play!
There were many fun parts to the weekend but we were all excited to see what the big waterpark was all about.
Mama and BG in their tunics, ready to head down!
And these pics say a thousand words, she had an absolute blast!!!
This is where we stayed, nice and safe :)
BG's buddy Camden and his daddy
There was a banquet on Saturday night and it was a green theme for St. Patty's day.
Daddy and Betsy Grace were looking sharp!
Another one of BG's new friends, Brea. These little girls were SO cute together!!!
They held hands....
They danced....
and they found balloons!!!!
The O'Rourkes and the Barksdales
Daddies with kiddos, watching the Irish Dancers!
Right in the action!
Betsy Grace with sweet Janie.
This little girl has been through so much, we loved spending time with her, her big brother and sister and her parents...what a special family!
We couldn't stay much after 8pm because of bedtime but the dancing was just kicking up.
What a fun party!
We left the next day full of pride, blessings, knowledge and love. We didn't know what to expect but our trip was so special for our little family of 3(4 if we count little sister). Mac and I feel it is so important to build a strong network for our family, so that we can have the love and support of people just like Betsy Grace. And for Betsy Grace to develop life long friends who are just like her. We are so very blessed for the health of our child. We have not faced one complication with her achon and we are so very thankful. We certainly met a lot of children and families who have been through so much! I was reminded this weekend to not take anything for granted, God has given us so much, especially all of the gifts that we see because of our angel, Betsy Grace.
